Deciding Where Adsense Ads Should Be Used

Seeking a Work at Home Business?
If you want more than a job change... more than a career change, if what you really desire is a meaningful life change, maybe it's time you thought about starting your very own home business.

The truth is: You can find ways to do what you love, and get paid for it. You can create a life where there is balance and time for the people and things that matter most!

Deciding where AdSense Ads should be used on your website requires the consideration of several factors. There are those that feel that AdSense diminishes their brand and others who view it as a useful tool for visitors that doubles as a profitable application for publishers. The commercial goals and purposes of your website are two main factors in selecting AdSense.

There are vendors who make the decision to place AdSense ads on their sites. This is questionable because it appears to provide opportunities for potential customers to be sold services or products from a rival. Publishers answer this by asserting that AdSense ads are used on their sites to provide advertisements for secondary or complimentary services.

These statements can easily be rationalized - for example, a company that sells cell phones could provide advertisements for an electronics company because they are not considered direct rivals. Online retailers who directly allow ads of their rivals on their site also exist. The retailers hold to the belief that allowing your competitors to advertise within your site does have benefits. One of these is that your competitors do exist and a visitor will eventually find them, probably by using a Google search, so you might as well allow their ads on your site.

Though this is a valid claim, established brands, such as Ford Motor Company, would never tolerate a Chevy ad on their site. Publishers also feel AdSense is ineffective in making conversions. Visitors who click on ads are not considered highly qualified consumers. If they were, they would quickly navigate to the materials or products that interest them without an ad pointing the way.

While online retailers in terms of being appropriate for their site question AdSense, publishers should have no qualms about using the AdSense program. For example, websites that provide services like free dictionaries or encyclopedias get high levels of traffic. With AdSense they are able to make their service profitable. This is the same situation that Bloggers find themselves in. AdSense allows them to be able to continue to offer their content free of charge. While they are unable to reach the scale necessary to contract with traditional advertisers, they can still find a vehicle to allow them to enjoy a profit.

Previously free services, including formats of information broadcast, could also benefit from AdSense. In 2006, one publisher claimed that he was contacted through Google who helped him increase his click through rate, which in turn earned him $19,000 that year. This rate of success has stimulated online publishers to opt for AdSense. AdSense also has the benefit of offering a professional look at sites. When a company has the ability to contact advertisers, they are seen to offer a service that is in high demand. AdSense is able to give companies the appearance of offering products that warrant advertisements.

Despite the success of AdSense, they have one negative issue to contend with. There are publishers who use AdSense only to gain a profit. Many visitors have found that when they click on an AdSense ad, they are often directed to a site that holds no relevance to their search. If they read that Google hosted the ad, the consumer will associate all adverts by Google to be a waste of their time. Google must address this problem in order to maintain AdSense as a reputable service.

Nonetheless, AdSense is a useful tool to visitors of any site. Clicking on an ad gives the visitor more options, provides revenue for publishers and offers a way for those who provide free services to generate revenue from their pages. Google also fears that rival PPC advertisers will offer better rates for publishers, causing a loss of advertisers. However, Google holds to the belief that publishers will realize that they are safer and able to make a greater profit if they remain within the same PPC network.

Just take some time and carefully consider the points above and then decide where using adsense ads is appropriate for your web site or online business.
